World PMV Games 2023 – Deep Blue – MMPMV

This is an entry to The World PMV Games 2023 by MMPMV. The theme for The World PMV Games 2023 is “create a narrative” so this PMV is an adaptation of Oriana Small’s (Ashley Blue’s) book “Girlvert: A Porno Memoir” into a PMV by use of clips from the audio book version. The main visual source being used is the anime film Perfect Blue. All sex acts are simulated, though all simulated sex scenes and full and partial nudity from the visual sources were porned up as much as possible by how they are used in the edit. Visual innuendo created by how the visuals can be used in combination with the audio (or simply through altering them in the editing process) was used as much as possible to force the visuals to a closer relation to the audio. Instrumental music tracks were used to not interfere with the spoken dialogue and are mostly psychedelic rock from film scores. Audio from Perfect Blue, as in sound effects and dubbed voice lines, is used throughout the edit. The edit is effects heavy overall and consists of a lot of alterations to color, lighting, and transparency to visually manipulate multiple video clips at once. Flashing lights and jump cuts are to the extent that it’s not advised to watch this if sensitive to such things, but all of this varies quite a bit across the course of the edit. Implied and attempted rape, as well as other violent imagery from Perfect Blue are also present in this edit, but nothing beyond what one would expect from a typical slasher film (and recontexualized to align with the narrative established by the edit). Further context for aspects of the narrative that are in the Girlvert book but not as audio in the edit are presented in the credits sequence through clips of Ashley Blue and Jim Powers discussing Ashley Blue’s life and career.
